Krasnodar region
Today Krasnodar Region is one of the most dynamically developing regions
in Russia, a provider of food safety of the country and its most
powerful transport unit.
Krasnodar region is one of ten leading regions of Russia in the rating
of the investment appeal. In Krasnodar region, in Sochi, winter Olympic
Games will be held in 2014.
The territory of Krasnodar region is 76 thousand square kilometers. The
number of permanent residents in the Krasnodar region is more then 5
million people.
The administrative center is Krasnodar - a large financial, industrial, scientific, educational and cultural center of Krasnodar region.
The annual volume of Gross Regional Product in Krasnodar region is over 16,0 billion Euro, yearly growth 7-8%. The annual output of investments is over 6,0 billion Euro, with annual growth rate 20-25%.
Krasnodar region has direct access to international sea ways through eight ports at the southern borders of the country. Transit routes through Central Russia, through Europe and through Central Asia connect it to international markets.
In the north and northeast Krasnodar region borders with Rostov region, in the east with Stavropol region, in the south with Georgia and Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. Krasnodar region is often called Kuban after the biggest river that flows in the region. In the south and the west it is washed by the waters of Asov and Black seas. 740 km out of the total 1540 km of its borders face the sea.
Special economic zone of resort and recreational type has been created
in Krasnodar region. 
The Government of Russia has made a decision to
create a gambling zone at the territory of the region (one of the 4
zones in Russia), where will set a privileged regime for entrepreneurial
business. Private investments are involved for construction of the
casinos, hotels, restaurants and golf-clubs.
Kuban regularly participates in major international and domestic
exhibitions. Trade missions of Krasnodar region have been opened in
Italy, Austria, Turkey and Germany.
