Anapa

Anapa is one of the most famous Black Sea resort, it is situated in the south-west of the Krasnodar region, surrounded by the Caucasus foothills and the steppes of the Taman Peninsula. The area of the region is nearly one thousand square kilometers. The first hydropathic opened in Anapa in 1900.

Anapa is the sunniest resort of the Black Sea coast in Russia, where the sun shines 286 days per year. Anapa is the only resort in Russia which has curative sand beaches with the length of 42 kilometers and pebble beaches with the length of12 kilometers.

Unique curative resources make Anapa special among other sea resorts. Anapa is famous for curative mud and mineral water. Sanatoria of Anapa use 4 kinds of table mineral water for drinking and 5 kinds of mineral water for external use. The mud has unique curative and cosmetic properties. Also ionized air of the centuries-old forests of juniper and sunbathing on the quartz sand have an amazing medicinal effect.

In 2007 climatic and medicinal potential of Anapa was awarded by the General Assembly of the World federation of the hydrotherapy and the climatetherapy, where 40 countries of the world took part. That was the second time when Anapa was awarded as “The best resort region in the World”.
Anapa is a very important transport junction, which has an airport, railway, marine and bus stations. An international air-port is to be built in Anapa for the 2014 Olympics. The main sector of the economy of Anapa is tourism.
